The terms behind StoryCheck.
These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and StoryCheck (“StoryCheck”, “we”, “us”). They govern your use of our websites, reports, memberships, and support. They include automatic renewal terms, a binding arbitration agreement, and a class action waiver. Please read them carefully.

Agreement to these Terms
By creating an account, ticking a box to accept these Terms, completing a purchase, or otherwise accessing or using StoryCheck, you agree to these Terms, to our Privacy Policy and to our Disclaimer, which form part of these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use StoryCheck.
You agree that ticking a box, clicking a button, or otherwise accepting electronically is your electronic signature and has the same legal effect as a handwritten signature. We keep a record of when and how you accepted these Terms, including the version you accepted, and we may use that record to show what you agreed to.
We may show StoryCheck pages in languages other than English for your convenience. If a translation conflicts with the English version of these Terms, the English version controls, unless the law of your country requires otherwise.
Consumers outside the United States
Regional terms take priority
If you are a consumer living in the European Economic Area, our EU and EEA Terms also apply to you. If you are a consumer living in the United Kingdom, our UK Terms also apply to you. Where those regional terms conflict with these Terms, the regional terms prevail.
If you are a consumer living outside the United States, nothing in these Terms removes or limits any right you have under the mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence. The sections on refunds, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, dispute resolution, arbitration, class action waiver, and governing law apply to you only to the extent those laws allow.
Who may use StoryCheck
To use StoryCheck, you must:
- be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live if that is higher, and able to enter into a binding contract;
- use StoryCheck only for yourself, for personal and non-commercial purposes;
- not be barred from using StoryCheck under any applicable law, not be located in a country subject to comprehensive US sanctions, and not be named on any US government restricted-party list;
- not have had a StoryCheck account suspended or closed by us for breaking these Terms; and
- give us accurate information, including an email address that you own and control.
By using StoryCheck, you confirm that you meet these requirements.
What StoryCheck is, and what it is not
StoryCheck lets you look up a phone number, email address, or name and receive a report of possible matches compiled from licensed third-party data providers, publicly available sources, and the information you give us. Depending on what those sources return, a report may include, for example, possible names, approximate location, carrier and line type, spam and scam signals, online accounts and public profiles, publicly available images, data breach exposure, web mentions, confidence scores, and an automatically generated summary. Many searches return limited information or none. Report information is gathered from those sources when a search is run. Images found about people load from their original source rather than being saved by us.
StoryCheck is not a background check, identity verification, credit check, or emergency or safety service. It does not monitor people, devices, or accounts, does not track anyone’s location in real time, and does not give access to private accounts or communications.
We may add, change, or remove features, data sources, and report sections at any time. We may also offer different features, prices, trial lengths, billing frequencies, and page designs to different users, including as part of tests.
Not a consumer reporting agency
StoryCheck may not be used for FCRA purposes
StoryCheck is not a consumer reporting agency as defined by the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. § 1681 et seq. (“FCRA”), and StoryCheck reports are not consumer reports. StoryCheck does not assemble or evaluate information for the purpose of furnishing consumer reports.
You may not use StoryCheck, or any information obtained through it, in whole or in part, as a factor in deciding a person’s eligibility for employment, promotion, reassignment, or retention; renting or leasing housing; credit, loans, or other financing; insurance; a license or government benefit; educational admission or scholarships; or any other purpose covered by the FCRA or by similar state laws such as the California Investigative Consumer Reporting Agencies Act. You also may not use StoryCheck to collect a debt or locate a debtor, or for any purpose that requires permissible use under the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act or the Driver’s Privacy Protection Act. The same restrictions apply under equivalent laws in other countries.
Each time you run a search, you certify that you will not use the results for any of these purposes.
Your responsibilities when you search
You may use StoryCheck only for a lawful purpose. You are solely responsible for each search you run, for the information you submit, and for anything you do with the results, including complying with privacy, data protection, anti-harassment, anti-discrimination, and communications laws.
If you obtain personal information about another person through StoryCheck, you may have legal obligations toward that person. For example, under European data protection law you may be a separate data controller responsible for having a lawful basis for your own use of that information.
You must independently verify any information before relying on it, and you must not publish, share, or disclose information from a report except where the law allows.
Prohibited uses
You may not use StoryCheck, directly or through anyone else, to:
- stalk, harass, threaten, intimidate, abuse, bully, defame, or dox anyone, or cause anyone fear or distress;
- locate, contact, monitor, or follow a person who does not want contact with you, including a current or former partner, a person protected by a court order, or a victim of domestic violence, sexual assault, or stalking;
- search for, identify, or contact anyone you know or suspect is under 18, or upload an image of a minor;
- obtain, use, or disclose information about a person whose information is protected from disclosure by law, such as a judge, prosecutor, or law enforcement officer covered by New Jersey’s Daniel’s Law or similar laws;
- commit or assist fraud, identity theft, impersonation, pretexting, phishing, scams, blackmail, extortion, or sextortion;
- discriminate against anyone on the basis of a characteristic protected by law;
- make unsolicited marketing calls, texts, or emails, or contact anyone in violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, the Telemarketing Sales Rule, anti-spam laws, or do-not-call rules;
- use StoryCheck on behalf of or for the benefit of anyone other than yourself, or for any commercial purpose, including investigations for clients;
- resell, sublicense, publish, redistribute, or commercially exploit reports or any data from StoryCheck, or use them to build, enrich, or train any database, product, service, or artificial intelligence model;
- use bots, scrapers, crawlers, scripts, or other automated means to access StoryCheck, run searches, or extract data, or get around any usage limit;
- share your account, sign-in codes, or sign-in links, or open more than one account to get around limits, suspensions, trial eligibility, or pricing;
- copy, modify, reverse engineer, or decompile StoryCheck, or probe, test, or interfere with its security, rate limits, or access controls;
- upload anything you do not have the right to share, anything unlawful, or any malicious code;
- give false information, use a payment method you are not authorized to use, or dispute a charge that you authorized in order to obtain the service without paying for it; or
- violate any law or anyone’s rights, or use StoryCheck in any way that could expose StoryCheck, our data providers, or other people to harm or liability.
What happens if you misuse StoryCheck
Your account and sign-in
StoryCheck does not use passwords. You sign in with a one-time code or a sign-in link that we send to your email address. Anyone who can access your email inbox can access your StoryCheck account, so you are responsible for keeping your email account and devices secure and for all activity in your StoryCheck account.
Do not share sign-in codes or links. Tell us promptly at support@storycheck.com if you believe someone has accessed your account without permission. To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for losses caused by unauthorized access that results from the security of your email account or devices.
Report data, accuracy, and sources
Results are possible matches, not facts
Report information comes from third-party data providers, publicly available sources, the information you give us, and automated analysis. We do not create that information and do not independently verify it. It may be inaccurate, incomplete, out of date, or about a different person, for example because phone numbers are reassigned or because different people share a name. Confidence scores and risk signals are automated estimates, not findings of fact. Web mentions may contain allegations or gossip that no one has verified.
Reports are not provided in real time. Information in a report may change, become unavailable, or be removed at any time, including after you have paid, for example because a source changes, an image is taken down at its original location, a person asks us to remove their information, or the law requires it.
Do not treat anything in a report as proof of a person’s identity, conduct, character, or intentions. You are solely responsible for any decision you make or action you take based on a report. If you believe you or someone else is in danger, contact emergency services or the police, and do not confront anyone on the basis of a report.
Trials, memberships, and automatic renewal
Automatic renewal terms
A StoryCheck membership starts with a 7-day trial for $3.99. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your membership automatically renews and your payment method is charged $29.99 every week until you cancel.
You can cancel online at any time, without contacting us, from your account settings or at storycheck.com/cancel. To avoid the renewal charge, cancel before your trial ends or before your next billing date.
The trial fee, trial length, renewal price, and billing frequency that apply to you are the ones shown at checkout before you pay and in the confirmation we send you. If they differ from the figures on this page, the amounts shown at your checkout apply.
- Your authorization. By starting a membership, you authorize StoryCheck and our payment processors to charge your payment method for the trial fee and, unless you cancel, for the recurring renewal price at the start of each billing period. You also authorize us to use updated card details supplied by your card network or bank. This authorization is separate from any consent to receive emails.
- Two-part trial fee. The trial fee of $3.99 is collected as two charges that together equal it: $3.49 at checkout and $0.50 right after, to the same payment method. Both charges are part of the trial fee and are real charges, not temporary holds. If the $0.50 does not go through, you pay $3.49 only and keep your trial.
- Billing dates. Renewal charges are made at the start of each billing period, which begins when your trial ends and then repeats every week, or at the frequency shown at your checkout.
- Failed payments. If a renewal payment fails, we may retry it several times over the following weeks and let you know, and we may pause your credits or access until payment succeeds. Please keep your payment details up to date.
- Currency and bank fees. The price at checkout is the total we charge. If your payment method is issued in a different currency or country, your bank or card issuer may add foreign transaction or currency conversion fees. Those fees are set and kept by your bank, not by StoryCheck.
- Prices that vary. Trial and membership prices, currencies, trial lengths, and billing frequencies vary by location, and we may offer different prices or promotions to different users, including as part of pricing tests. We may estimate your location from information such as your IP address or billing details. Across the countries we serve, the trial currently costs about US$1 to US$4.50 (or the local equivalent) and membership about US$9 to US$41 per billing period, billed weekly or monthly. The price shown at your checkout is the price that applies to you.
- Price changes. We may change the price of an existing membership. If we do, we will notify you in advance by email, and the new price will apply from a billing period that starts after the notice. If you do not agree, you can cancel before the new price applies.
Search credits and one-time purchases
- Credits. Running a report uses search credits. Your trial includes the credit used by your first report. At the start of each paid billing period your balance is reset to a set number of credits (currently 10). Some features, such as adding details to a report or running an image search, use additional credits.
- Credits have no cash value. Unused credits do not roll over to the next billing period, cannot be transferred or exchanged for money, and end when your trial or membership ends, including when you cancel a trial. Any bonus or promotional credits expire as stated when they are given.
- One-time purchases. We may offer optional one-time purchases, such as downloadable PDF versions of your reports. A one-time purchase is charged once, to the payment method saved on your account, when you confirm it. It is not part of your recurring membership charge.
How to cancel
You can cancel at any time. The quickest ways are online, and neither requires contacting us:
- in your account settings; or
- at storycheck.com/cancel, where you can cancel while signed in or by confirming a code we email to you.
You can also email support@storycheck.com from the address on your account and ask us to cancel.
When cancellation takes effect
During a trial: your trial, your access to membership features, and any remaining credits end as soon as you cancel, and you will not be charged the renewal price.
During a paid billing period: your membership stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for, and it will not renew again.
Cancelling stops future renewal charges. It does not reverse charges already made, and it does not delete your account or data. To delete your data, use our data request page; a deletion request also cancels any active membership. Not using StoryCheck, or unsubscribing from our emails, does not cancel a membership.
Refunds
Charges are non-refundable, except where the law requires
Trial fees (including both charges of a two-part trial fee), renewal charges, and one-time purchases are final and non-refundable, and we do not give refunds or credits for partial billing periods, unused time, or unused credits, except where a refund is required by applicable law.
- Statutory rights. If you are a consumer in the EEA or the UK, you have the withdrawal rights described in our EU and EEA Terms or UK Terms. Nothing in this section limits any other refund right that the law of your country gives you and that cannot be waived.
- Courtesy refunds. We may occasionally choose to give a full or partial refund. Doing so once does not oblige us to do so again, for you or for anyone else.
- Reports we cannot provide. If we are unable to provide any report at all for a search you paid for, contact support@storycheck.com and we will review it. A report that contains little information, or information that is later removed, is not a failure to provide a report.
Billing questions and payment disputes
If you think we charged you by mistake, please contact support@storycheck.com first. We can usually resolve billing questions quickly, including by cancelling your membership or correcting a charge.
If you dispute a charge with your bank or card issuer, we may pause or close your account while the dispute is open, and we may give our payment processor and your card issuer the information needed to respond. That can include your account and order details, your use of StoryCheck, and the record of your acceptance of these Terms and of the terms shown at checkout. Disputing a charge that you authorized may lead to your account being closed. Nothing in this section limits any right you have under applicable law or card network rules.
Emails and electronic communications
You agree that we may provide notices, disclosures, receipts, and other communications to you electronically, by email or within StoryCheck, and that these satisfy any legal requirement that they be in writing.
- Service emails. We send emails that are needed to provide StoryCheck, such as sign-in codes, report delivery, receipts, billing and account notices, and replies to your requests. You cannot opt out of these while you have an account or membership.
- Marketing emails. When you give us your email address, we may send you emails about your search and about StoryCheck features and offers. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in any marketing email. Unsubscribing does not cancel a membership.
- Email measurement. Our emails may contain technology that tells us whether an email was opened or a link was clicked, as described in our Privacy Policy.
Automated systems and AI
StoryCheck uses automated systems, including artificial intelligence, to operate the service:
- Support and account requests. Most support and account requests are handled by automated systems that follow our policies and are authorized to act on your account, for example to cancel a membership, update account details, or answer a billing question. Any message you receive from our support team may be generated by these systems.
- Report content. Summaries, narrative text, insights, and scores in a report are generated automatically, including by AI, from the data our sources return. Like the rest of a report, they describe possible matches and signals, not confirmed facts.
- Language. Reports are provided in English or, where available, in the language used at checkout. Translations may be imperfect, and some source data may appear in its original language.
Automated outputs can contain mistakes. If you believe an automated reply or a report got something wrong, contact support@storycheck.com and we will take another look.
Our intellectual property and your license to use reports
StoryCheck, including its software, design, text, graphics, report formats, and the StoryCheck name and logo, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. Data in reports is licensed from our providers or collected from other sources and is not sold to you.
Subject to these Terms, we give you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, and revocable license to access StoryCheck and to view, download, and print reports you are entitled to, only for your own lawful, personal, non-commercial use. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
Information and images you provide
You keep ownership of the information you submit, such as phone numbers, email addresses, names, answers to our questions, messages, and images (“Your Content”). You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, copy, process, transmit, and store Your Content to provide, secure, and improve StoryCheck, to prevent misuse, and to comply with the law, as described in our Privacy Policy.
You promise that you have every right needed to submit Your Content, that submitting it is lawful, and that it does not violate anyone else’s rights, including the privacy and publicity rights of any person you search for or whose image you upload.
If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them without any obligation to you. If you leave a review of StoryCheck on another platform, that platform’s terms apply, and your review must be genuine and based on your own experience.
Removal requests from people in our reports
Anyone can ask us to remove their phone number, email address, or name, and the information linked to it, from StoryCheck at storycheck.com/opt-out.
When we receive a verified removal request, or when the law requires it, we may remove or restrict information in reports, including reports you have already received or paid for, and we may decline to produce future reports about that person. Removal of information from a report is not a defect in the service and does not by itself entitle you to a refund.
Third-party services and links
Payments are processed by third-party payment processors under their own terms. StoryCheck may link to or show content from websites and services we do not control, such as social networks and the original sources of images. We are not responsible for those services, their content, or their privacy practices, and your dealings with them are solely between you and them.
Suspension and termination
You may stop using StoryCheck at any time. Cancelling a membership is described in How to cancel, and deleting your data is described in our Privacy Policy.
We may suspend, restrict, or end your access to StoryCheck, and cancel any membership, at any time and with or without notice, if we reasonably believe that you have broken these Terms or the law, that your use creates a risk of harm, fraud, or legal liability for us, our providers, or anyone else, that you have disputed authorized charges, or if a law, regulator, or provider requires it.
If we end your access because you broke these Terms, you will not receive a refund, except where the law requires one. If we end your access for any other reason, or discontinue StoryCheck, we will refund the unused part of a billing period you have already paid for.
When your access ends, your license to use StoryCheck ends and any unused credits are forfeited. Sections that by their nature should continue will survive, including those on prohibited uses, billing and amounts owed, refunds, intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, release, dispute resolution, and governing law.
Disclaimer of warranties
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so some of these exclusions may not apply to you. In that case, any warranty that cannot be excluded is limited to the shortest period and the narrowest scope the law allows.
Limitation of liability
These limits are an essential part of the bargain between you and us and apply even if a limited remedy fails of its essential purpose. They do not limit liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, such as liability for fraud or, in some places, for gross negligence, willful misconduct, or death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, you will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless StoryCheck and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, contractors, agents, licensors, and data providers from and against all claims, demands, liabilities, damages, losses, fines, costs, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, arising out of or relating to your use or misuse of StoryCheck, Your Content, your breach of these Terms, your violation of any law, or your violation of anyone’s rights, including any claim by a person you searched for or about whom you obtained information through StoryCheck. We may take control of the defense of any such claim at your expense, and you will cooperate with us. You may not settle any such claim without our prior written consent.
Release
To the fullest extent permitted by law, you release StoryCheck and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, contractors, agents, licensors, and data providers from all claims, demands, and damages of every kind, known and unknown, arising out of or connected with any dispute between you and any other person, including anyone you search for or about whom you obtain information through StoryCheck. If you are a California resident, you waive California Civil Code section 1542, which says: “A general release does not extend to claims that the creditor or releasing party does not know or suspect to exist in his or her favor at the time of executing the release and that, if known by him or her, would have materially affected his or her settlement with the debtor or released party.” You also waive any similar law of any other jurisdiction.
Dispute resolution, binding arbitration, and class action waiver
Please read this section carefully
It requires you and StoryCheck to resolve most disputes through individual binding arbitration instead of in court, and it waives the right to a jury trial and to take part in a class action. You can opt out within 30 days, as explained in (i) below. If you are a consumer outside the United States, see Consumers outside the United States.
(a) What this covers. “Dispute” means any dispute, claim, or controversy between you and StoryCheck (including our affiliates, officers, employees, agents, successors, and assigns) that arises out of or relates to these Terms, StoryCheck, any report, any purchase or charge, any communication from us, or your relationship with us, whether based on contract, statute, regulation, tort, or any other legal theory, and whether it arose before or after you agreed to these Terms. This agreement to arbitrate is to be interpreted as broadly as the law allows.
(b) Try to resolve it informally first. Before starting an arbitration or a small claims case, you and we each agree to try in good faith to resolve the Dispute informally for at least 60 days after one of us sends the other a written notice. Your notice must be emailed to support@storycheck.com and include your name, the email address on your account, a description of the Dispute, and the relief you want, and it must be personally signed by you (and by your lawyer, if you have one). We will send our notice to the email address on your account. If either of us asks, we will talk individually by phone or video. Limitation periods and filing fee deadlines are paused while we try to resolve the Dispute informally. Completing this step is a condition of starting an arbitration or small claims case.
(c) Binding individual arbitration. Any Dispute that is not resolved informally will be resolved only by final and binding individual arbitration, except as set out in (e). The Federal Arbitration Act, 9 U.S.C. § 1 et seq., governs this agreement to arbitrate. The arbitration will be administered by the American Arbitration Association (“AAA”) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules and, where they apply, its Mass Arbitration Supplementary Rules, as in effect when the arbitration is filed and as modified by this section (available at adr.org). If the AAA cannot or will not administer the arbitration, we will agree on another provider or a court will appoint one. A single arbitrator will decide the Dispute, must follow these Terms and applicable law, and may award only the individual relief a court could award, only in favor of the individual party seeking it, and only to the extent needed to resolve that party’s individual claim.
(d) Fees and hearings. Filing, administration, and arbitrator fees are governed by the AAA’s rules, and we will pay the fees those rules require a business to pay. If your claim is for US$10,000 or less, you may choose whether the arbitration is decided on written submissions only, by phone or video, or at an in-person hearing in the county where you live. If the arbitrator finds that a claim or the relief sought was frivolous or brought for an improper purpose (as measured by Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 11(b)), the arbitrator may award fees and costs as the law allows.
(e) Exceptions. Either of us may (1) bring an individual claim in small claims court if it qualifies and stays there; and (2) ask a court for an injunction or other equitable relief to stop actual or threatened infringement or misuse of intellectual property, or unauthorized access to or misuse of StoryCheck, such as scraping. A request for public injunctive relief, where the law makes that relief available and does not allow it to be waived, will be severed and decided by a court only after all other claims have been arbitrated.
(f) Class action and jury trial waiver. You and StoryCheck may each bring Disputes against the other only in an individual capacity, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class, collective, consolidated, private attorney general, or representative proceeding. The arbitrator may not consolidate more than one person’s claims or preside over any class or representative proceeding, except as set out in (g). If a court decides that the law does not allow any part of this paragraph to be enforced for a particular claim or form of relief, that claim or relief (and only that one) will be severed and decided by a court after all other claims have been arbitrated. You and StoryCheck each waive any right to a jury trial for any Dispute decided in court.
(g) Mass filings. If 25 or more similar demands for arbitration are filed against StoryCheck by or with the help of the same or coordinated lawyers or organizations, the AAA’s Mass Arbitration Supplementary Rules will apply, and the demands will be handled in stages. In the first stage, the claimants’ lawyers and StoryCheck will each choose 10 demands to proceed to arbitration, and the remaining demands will be held and will not be treated as filed, and no fees will be charged for them, until they are selected for a later stage. After the first stage, the parties will mediate the remaining demands in good faith. If mediation does not resolve them, they will proceed in stages of up to 100 demands at a time, unless the parties agree otherwise. Limitation periods are paused for demands that are being held. The result of one arbitration does not bind any other claimant. A court may enforce this paragraph.
(h) Who decides. The arbitrator has exclusive authority to decide any question about the interpretation, applicability, enforceability, or formation of this agreement to arbitrate, except that a court decides questions about paragraphs (f) and (g).
(i) Your right to opt out. You may opt out of this agreement to arbitrate by emailing support@storycheck.com within 30 days after you first accept these Terms, with the subject line “Arbitration opt-out”, your full name, the email address on your account, and a clear statement that you opt out. If you opt out, neither you nor we are bound by this agreement to arbitrate, and Disputes will be decided in court as described in Governing law and venue. Opting out does not affect any other part of these Terms.
(j) Changes to this section. If we change this section after you have accepted it (other than a change to our contact address), you may reject the change by emailing us within 30 days after it takes effect, in which case the version you last accepted continues to apply to Disputes between us. A change never applies to a Dispute that one of us had already notified to the other in writing.
(k) Survival and severability. This section survives the end of your use of StoryCheck. Except as set out in (f), if any part of this section is found unenforceable, the rest of it continues to apply, and if the agreement to arbitrate as a whole is found unenforceable for a Dispute, that Dispute will be decided in court as described in Governing law and venue.
Governing law and venue
These Terms and any Dispute are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict of laws rules, except that the Federal Arbitration Act governs the agreement to arbitrate. For any Dispute that is not arbitrated, you and we submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Delaware and waive any objection to venue there, except that a small claims case may be brought where you live.
To the extent permitted by law, any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or StoryCheck must be brought within one year after the claim arises, or it is permanently barred.
If you are a consumer outside the United States, this section applies only as described in Consumers outside the United States.
Changes to StoryCheck and to these Terms
We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of StoryCheck at any time. If we discontinue StoryCheck entirely, we will tell you in advance where we reasonably can and refund the unused part of any billing period you have already paid for.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms with a new “Last updated” date, and if a change is material we will take reasonable steps to tell you in advance, for example by email or with a notice in StoryCheck. For an existing membership, a material change applies from your next billing period after the notice, unless the change is required by law or relates only to a new feature. If you do not agree to a change, stop using StoryCheck and cancel your membership before the change takes effect. If you keep using StoryCheck after it takes effect, you accept the updated Terms. Changes do not apply to a Dispute that one of us had already notified to the other in writing.
General terms
- Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, the Disclaimer, any applicable regional terms, and the terms shown to you at checkout, are the entire agreement between you and us about StoryCheck. If the terms shown at your checkout conflict with these Terms about the price, trial, or billing frequency of your purchase, the checkout terms apply.
- Severability and waiver. If any provision is found unenforceable, it will be enforced to the maximum extent possible and the rest of these Terms will remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.
- Assignment. You may not transfer these Terms or your account. We may transfer these Terms, including in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets.
- Events beyond our control. We are not responsible for any delay or failure caused by events beyond our reasonable control, such as outages of internet, hosting, or data providers, natural disasters, war, labor disputes, or acts of government.
- Sanctions and export laws. You may not use or access StoryCheck in violation of US or other applicable export control or sanctions laws.
- No third-party beneficiaries. Nobody other than you and us has rights under these Terms, except the people and companies protected by the indemnification and release sections.
- Relationship. These Terms do not create any partnership, joint venture, employment, or agency relationship.
- Interpretation. Headings are for convenience only, and “including” means “including without limitation”.
